The 94th Miss California is MacKenzie Freed. In the months since her crowning, she has had the opportunity to represent the Miss California Organization at various events and fundraisers throughout the state and is the spokeswoman for a number of the organization’s sponsors. Freed has worked to raise over $300,000 benefiting the youth in the Bay Area. She advocates for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as the Goodwill Ambassador for the state of California, through her volunteer efforts she has helped raise over $1,000,000 for Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. Freed acts as a brand ambassador for the American Pistachio Growers. She also volunteers her time with Dress For Success, a national organization who's mission is to help women reach economic independence. As Miss California, she is an advocate for women and girls with her social impact initiative, “From Classroom to Boardroom: Overcoming Workplace Bias" where she actively works to empower women of all ages with tips and tools to succeed in their future careers. MacKenzie is a summa cum laude graduate of California Baptist University where she earned a degree in Philosophy and Communication Studies. After completing her year of service, she will attend law school to obtain her J.D. specializing in gender discrimination and sexual harassment law. |
